In two days, I will be sitting at the airport, or maybe just getting there. I haven't even started packing. Yani has already been packed like two or three times. Right now it's 27 degrees outside. In the DR, it's 82 with a projected high of 88 and an over night low of 74. Now that I look at it, that's about what every day of my vacation looks like. In three days, I will be sitting down for a big lunch of... (hmmm, lets take a wild guess here) rice beans and chicken. Mmmmm mmm mmmmm. Probably a little lime and avocado on the side. And of course, an ice cold Coke in a glass bottle. We have been trying to prepare Jonathan so that he won't get mad when all he hears is Spanish. (He usually yells and covers his ears when we speak in Spanish cause he can't understand what we are saying) We have got him to the point where he will just try to repeat everything we say. It should be fun.

Today is kind one of those days when I really want to say something, but I can't seem to think of anything to say. I think it's because I've been so busy lately that I haven't even had time to think, let alone think. Hey wait... Oh well. Anyway, I am about a third of the way through my dental stuff I think. I got the two root canals done. Those were fun. I really don't see what the big deal is. Everyone always goes "Whoa, a root canal. Sucks to be you!" I didn't even need and drugs afterwards. I got some suitcases for the big trip. There are red. I am hoping that they are real easy to find at the baggage claim. I got a root canal with no anesthetic once. It still wasn't that big of a deal.

The guys have taken me to the driving range a few times over the last year. I have actually even thought about buying my own set of clubs. It is a tax write-off after all you know. Well, Friday, Mark (my boss), organized an IT scramble tournament. There were two teams. Our team won. Rules are that you have to use a drive from each person at least once. Well, the one hole that I had a decent drive, I actually had the best drive of our group. It was a par four and I almost birdied it by myself! Did set it up for a six foot putt for someone else though for birdie. Too bad it is such an expensive sport. Yes, I actually called it a sport. YOU GOT A PROBLEM WITH THAT? Well, it's fun at least. And I can be fat and still play. Nothing beats that except video games.

About 2 years ago, I had a filling fall out of one of my teeth and the remaining part of the tooth break. I wasn't happy but it never hurt or showed any signs of decay so I didn't ever go to the dentist. Then some little fillings fell out but the same thing, no pain, no emergency. Well, about 8 months ago, a big filling fell out and it has really really been bugging me lately. So I did it. I broke down and got a good dentist reference from Lecil and Trenton. I went to see him a few days ago and now it's my wallet that hurts. I have 10 visits scheduled over the next 4 months. We will be doing 2 root canals, 4 porcelain crowns, 10 resin fillings, and a number of other things that don't make any sense to me cause they are written in dentistian. Over all, it is going to cost me almost $1700.00!!! maybe that isn't all that much to all of you but it is to me. That's almost half my yearly salary.

For all of you that don't speak spanish, well that's just too bad. You'll have to figure this one out for yourselves. Yeah, I know. It's gunna be real hard. And no random clicking just to see if a word is really a link. You have to know what you are clicking on.

I haven't been to visit my in-laws since before they were my in-laws. I'm not really sure what inspired the sense of urgency but Yani and I decided we should go visit them real soon. So today, I bought the airline tickets. Normally, one adult round-trip ticket costs between $800 and $1000 dollars from here. We found some online for $564 per person. That's a pretty good deal in my book. (Not that I have a book, but if I ever write a book, that's what it will say.) Now we just have to get passports for the kids and get mine renewed. Yani's expired a month ago but we can't really get it renewed here. We have to get that done while we are down there. Supposedly, you can get it done at the airport in about half an hour.

Well, it looks like I may have to hold off a little longer on the Develligent website. Grant and Jeremy have been working on Turn Key Client Care for a little while now (like 3 months) and I had given up hope of doing the design work for it. Apparently, they are finally ready for some branding to be done and had me do some mockups. (available in my clients area of course) They really liked them and now it looks like I will be doing all the markup for the site. It's going to be really cool when it's done. It's a service that lets you come in and create pdf newsletters on the fly and then have them printed out and mailed to your clientele.

I got my DSL hooked up and running finally. Sure is nice. Also, very exciting news from the business world... Develligent is now a real business with business license, tax ID, bank account, clients and even a little money in the bank. Still no website though. Don't believe me? Check it out and see for yourself. I hopefully will be building it very soon. I should be done with my current project in a week or so. You can see the current mockups in my clients area. It's funny, most of the projects listed in my clients area are not really "my" clients. They are things I am working on in conjunction with other people or just my own stuff.

Well, it seems that my internet access provider, Digis Networks, has sold out or something. I went to log on the other night and the only page that would come up is a page that says, "Sign up for crappy service and only pay an arm and an leg!" I think I've had about enough of that. So yesterday, I ordered DSL. Then I had to get a Cisco 678 router. Where else can you turn but to Ebay. so I got one for a sniped price of $152.00 with all the cool accessories. I finished selling all the smart media cards by the way. 'Cept for one, I'm keeping it. Still, I ended up making over $40.00 and a free smart media card. Not too bad.

I have entered the exciting new world of ebay selling. I got some pretty good deals on a CDRW and some smart media cards and I just posted them on ebay the other day. Several people have bid on the burner already and it doesn't close for three more days. It's funny, I've been posting auctions for LDC for months now but they were never this exciting. I get such a kick out of seeing people bid on my stuff. Now I can see how ebay can become so addicting. I've caught myself on several occasions, looking around going "Hey, I bet I could sell that on ebay."

Last night, we went to Costco to get some milk. Ended up getting a bunch of other stuff too. That's why they tell you not to go grocery shopping on an empty stomach. So we bumped into (almost literally) an old buddy from Center7/AP Software/Clearstone. We used to play alot of Unreal Tournament and the reminiscing inspired me to put my UT maps on the site. So now I will be adding them to the "exciting getaways" section. Keep in mind that they may be kinda big downloads and that they are not really finished. Looks like my first map has been lost, maybe forever. Currently, I am building our dreamhome as a UT map. It's actually turning out pretty nice. so after much a-do, Here they are.

Yani went back to work yesterday. This was the first time that I have tried to take care of both the kids for any considerable amount of time. It went rather well actually, other than Jonathans incessant whining. He's been on this whining kick this last week or so. So after they both had thier naps, we went for a little walk to get the mail (and mostly to get Jonathan to stop whining). Looks like I finally own my car! I got the title to my car from the bank. The last time I had the title to my car, it was a Chevy Sprint. I sorta gave it to Fritz. And the one before that was Lucky, (my blue fiesta). Traded it for a set of guitar strings, a CD and a blizzard from Dairy Queen. Boy, I think it's obvious who got the better end of the deal there.

One of my favorite lines from a movie was when Sally says to Harry, "...and I'm going to be thirty!" and he says "When?" "Someday..." It was always fun for me to say that one. I can't really explain some things about my sense of humor but I always got a kick out of saying that one. Now what am I supposed to say? There's just nothing left to take it's place. Most people would just say "oh well" and carry on with their life but I don't know if I can do it. I guess it could be worse. "How?" you ask? Could be raining.

Well, it looks like ZuTroy.net is finally going to have a new home. Since I have a new computer (new to me at least), Grant and I are using my old box as our new server for Linux Dirt Cheap and of course, for ZuTroy.net. We installed Caldera Server 3.1.1 on it the other day and took it to his house. He just barely got his DSL up and running. As of right now, I am waiting for my DNS to update and point to the new location. If you are reading this new posting you are viewing this on the new server. If you are not reading this new posting, then you probably don't care. I also am finishing up the new design for LDC. It should go live sometime this week. It's neat. I showed it to Yani and she didn't like it cause it didn't look like anything familiar. Hmmmmm, oh well.

About two months ago, I forgot to bring a quarter or two to buy a Coke here at work and there was no one around that day to lend me one. So I had to go the whole day without Coke. (So sad fo yu) Then I guess I had a pretty busy weekend and didn't seem to get a chance to go get one then either. So monday comes and I am walking past the break room and naturally check my pocket for a quarter. Then I realize, "It's been three whole days since I had a Coke. Hmmmm, no headaches all weekend, why not see how long I can go without one, and it may save me a buck or two without having to dial that lame 10-10-220." So I did it. I started a Coke free diet. Then I thought, "why stop there?" I cleaned out my candy box (eating as I went of course). Hadn't had a Coke til last week Jon buys me a new Vanilla Coke and just gives it to me. I figured, "Hey, it's been a while, I can try it and just see how I feel." Man what a drag. Headache all day, icky sluggish feeling for a while, no real caffeine rush or even a sugar rush for that matter. So now I'm off Coke. If I make it til New Years, I can give my dad crap about giving up Dr. Pepper.

In all the excitement of having a new baby and with all the web server being inaccessible for so long I forgot to mention something quite exciting. I got a bunch of spending money from our tax return and bought Grants computer from him. It's a 1.4Ghz Athlon with 70G HD and 512M RAM and Dual Head GeForceII 32M video. It also has a neato wireless keyboard and mouse. I highly recommend the cordless mouse and keyboard. I still haven't found anything that really pushes its limits yet. I've' been thinking about taking up 3D modeling or maybe running a virtual recording studio. That should suck up some resources right? Then I would have to get more RAM. Sure would be neat to be able to say "yeah, it's got a Gig and a half of RAM"

I have a new daughter. We went to my parents Tuesday night. We went to the hospital Wednesday morning. They thought we were going to have to induce. Turns out that we didn't have to. She was born at 2:45 PM. We took a list of names with us because we couldn't really decide on one. Alisha Emily, Emily Richelle, Emily Carina, and Emily Sahara. So we named her Carina Emily. Then we call a few folks to let them know and of course Yani's family starts giving their suggestions for a name. What was the deal two weeks ago when we asked for suggestions? What was wrong with then huh? Well whatever, her name is Carina Emily. During our stay up north, Jonathan and I went to watch the airplanes land and take off. Boy, if it were up to Jonathan, we would still be at the airport. Everyone was saying how different it feels with two kids. I don't feel such a big difference yet. Hmmmm, I guess we'll see.

Yani is due on May 10th. We went for another checkup this morning and the doctor says that she will be surprised if we make it through the weekend without having a baby. We haven't even really decided on a name yet. And what if it's a boy after all? Then what will we do for a name? If we somehow make it til Wednesday (May 1st) then she wants us to come to the hospital and induce labor. I really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really hope that is the case. Gotta pack the car. Gotta take Jonathan to Grandmas house. Gotta find a name. Gotta think of a back up boy name. Oh... my life is sooooo hard. Yani is really excited to not be pregnant again. She has the baby's bag all ready and the baby room has already been reorganized about 14 times. I don't have an office anymore by the way. My desk is now in the bedroom. The filing cabinet is in the closet. My guitars are under the bed. And my amps are going into my dads storage shed as soon as he comes to get them. Still, I can't wait to see her.

For Christmas I got a neato webcam\digital camera that does up to 1.3 Mpx pictures and digital video. (Thanks Yani) It takes SmartMedia and can do about 40 seconds of 30 frames/sec video on an 8M card. So I got me a couple extra cards from Grant. An 8M and a 16M. I have only filled up all three cards once. And of course it's a neato webcam too. So I decided to resurrect the old watch-face can't-see-what's-going-on webcam, only do it right this time. So I tried out a few different ideas and settled on the state-of-the-art, top-of-the-line, out-of-the-box, end-to-end, end-all-be-all, super-ultra-mega-dyna video-bat-phone. Now I have it uploading all day while I am here at the office. We may set it up as a security camera to spy on that shifty night janitor that pokes through everyone's stuff but I usually take it with me because it is after all, a digital camera and digital video camera as well. Maybe I will create a gallery of some kind one of these days.
